Company

Therme Wien, one of the most modern city spas in Europe, opened in autumn 2010. Spread across a total area of 75.000 m², it offers some 4,000m² of pool space, a sauna area of around 3.000 m², a 6.000 m² healthcare centre and a 1.200 m² gym. Outstanding architecture and appealing design provide the setting for a comprehensive range of highlights including massage loungers; Finnish saunas and steam baths; saltwater, grotto and jacuzzi pools; diving towers; extra-wide, rubber-ring and adventure slides, and Austria’s first spa library.

About Us

The sulphurous Oberlaa natural spring is the foundation of the success story at this traditional spa location that dates back 45 years. Access to a second spring was drilled in 2009. Both of the healing sulphurous springs are among the most effective in Europe. The Therme Wien Med health centre, part of the spa, is Austria’s biggest centre of expertise for musculoskeletal disorders.

Cutting edge power and endurance training with professional support from sports scientists awaits all fitness fans at Therme Wien Fitness. Nutrition advice and medical checks, state of the art cardio equipment, solariums, infra red cabins and a women-only exercise area ensure that the gym leaves no wish unfulfilled. And the special highlight: it’s directly connected to the Therme Wien sauna zone.

The new Therme Wien is a joint project of Wien Holding GmbH, the VAMED Group and Vienna Insurance Group – Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG, Unicredit Bank Austria AG and Erste Group Bank AG. The new Therme Wien is operated by VAMED Vitality World. VAMED Vitality World is a highly specialised business unit of the VAMED Group and Austria’s biggest spa operator.
